Dr. Gene Paek is a board-certified anesthesiologist with experience and training in providing anesthetics to children as well as adults. Dr. Paek obtained his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, followed by training in Internal Medicine at Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital, and he ultimately finished anesthesia residency training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He is in good standing with the Washington Board of Licensing, belongs to the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and is a member of the Washington State Medical Association. He was recently voted a “Seattle Met Top Doc” for anesthesiology in 2023. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Paek was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. He spends as much time as possible with his beautiful wife and two children when not working.
After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry (MUSC) in 1996, Dr. McDonald practiced general dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years. He returned to MUSC to complete his two-year residency training in pediatric dentistry. After fulfilling his three-year naval obligation in Okinawa, Japan as a pediatric specialist, where he received the Thomas P. Carroll “Top Doc” award for clinical excellence, Dr. McDonald decided to open his own pediatric dental office in the Renton Highlands in September 2005. Currently, Dr. McDonald also volunteers his time working at the dental clinic of Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (an affiliate clinic of Seattle Children’s Hospital) and is an affiliate faculty member of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Dr. McDonald is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and maintains a Fellow status with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He retains current memberships in the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Society. He has served as past president of the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (2014-15), on the executive board of the Washington Oral Health Foundation (2010-2015), past president of the Seattle Pediatric Dental Study Club (09), and has served as a state delegate for the Washington State Dental Association (08-10). Dr. McDonald currently chairs and is a member of the King County ABCD (Access to Baby & Child Dentistry) Steering Committee, which is committed to accessing dental health care for underprivileged children. Dr. McDonald sits on the board of the Washington Oral Health Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the WSDA, and is the past president of the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. His most recent accomplishment includes a certification of completion from the Academy of Laser Dentistry (2017) and a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry (2017).
Dr. McDonald is also very involved in the community, presenting lectures to moms groups, grade schools, and other dentists. Through his ABCD and WOHF commitments, he also gives oral health lectures to special interest groups. He’s been nominated by his peers to Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s Top Dentist list (pediatric dentists) since 2009. Other accolades include selection into two prestigious dental organizations: the Pierre Fauchard Academy (2013) and the International College of Dentistry (2015). Dr. McDonald and his wife have two teenage boys, Hayden and Kyan. Besides playing with their dogs, the McDonald family enjoys all sorts of athletic activities, music, and art. In fact, two of Dr. McDonald’s paintings grace his office.
Dr. Sapna Saini received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Washington and shortly after pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, San Francisco, where she graduated with honors. She then returned home to the PNW to continue her training at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital and recently completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master of Science in Dentistry. She is also board-eligible through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Sapna values practicing family-focused, holistic dentistry and enjoys teaching children how to care for their growing smiles. She strives to take time to understand each child’s unique needs and provide a compassionate, positive, and safe dental experience during each visit.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Sapna and her fiancé love experiencing new places and cultures (nearly 30 countries down!), indulging in local bites and sights, cheering on the Hawks, and spending quality time with family and friends. Her favorite thing about working with kids is “helping them learn lifelong skills and enjoying all the fun stories they share.” She is thrilled to be joining the amazing team and can’t wait to meet your family!
Dr. Donald Lee is a dental anesthesiologist, residency trained and specifically disciplined in providing general anesthesia care in dental offices setting.
Dr. Lee received his dental degree from Loma Linda University in Southern California. He was chief resident during his 2 year residency in Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University. At graduation he was the recipient of the Senior Student Award for Outstanding Achievement from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Lee has practiced dental anesthesia for 23 years, and has specialized in pediatric anesthesia since 1999. He is affiliated with the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, American Dental Association and the Washington State Dental Association.
Dr. Lee attends annual meetings of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists and completes over 25 hours of continuing dental/medical education each year. He maintains current certification
in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
His favorite activity is spending time with his wife and their three
children. He loves all sports including skiing, football, hockey and basketball. He also enjoys music and plays the guitar. He is a follower of Christ and is grateful for the many blessings he has received.
